THERE ISin the United States of America, the House and Senate they just passed a new law called the “CHIPS Act of 2022”, deals with the crypto industry. The said project is even on the threshold of becoming a law. All it needs is President Joe Biden to sign it. However, as part of this project, a new position was born in the White House.
Crypto Expert Position
According to tweet from the Bitcoin Archive on July 31, 2022 in the United States, “The new law creates the position of White House cryptocurrency expert“. In fact, the House and Senate passed a new bill this week called the CHIPS Act of 2022. All that remains is President Biden’s signature to make the bill law.
There is an amendment in this bill that causes need to hire a crypto and blockchain expert. The amendment was introduced by Congressman Darren Soto (D-FL), who is co-chair of the Congressional Blockade Caucus in the House of Representatives.
Indeed, under section 10671 of the Act we are talking about, the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) will deal withestablish or appoint a blockchain and cryptocurrency specialist position within the Office to coordinate federal activities and advise the President on research and development issues related to blockchain, cryptocurrency, and cryptocurrency distributed ledger technologies.»
According to the new law, the OSTP should create the position of an advisory expert on blockchain and cryptocurrencies at the White House. But, for now, OSTP must work on accomplishing other missions of its own. These missions are related to blockchain and cryptocurrency technology. They fall under Executive Order Mr. Biden 10,467 regarding “responsible development of digital assets”.
