ATP: Borna Coric jumps 123 places to world No. 29

The performance of the week is clear and reflected in the world class. Borena Coric jumped 123 places to 29th on the ATP rankings with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Stephanos Tsitsipas in the Cincinnati Masters 1000 final. He earned a seed spot at the US Open (August 29 – September 11). The former 12th in the world (in November 2018), the Croatian dropped to 278th last May, due to serious health problems (surgery on the right shoulder, followed by a long absence from the circuit).
Tsitsipas has gained two places (5th) thanks to injury to Casper Ruud, but the progress of Felix Auger-Aliassime and Cameron Nori is worth noting. The Canadians and Britons, who are ranked 8th and 9th in the world, achieved career bests. Daniil Medvedev retained his world number one ranking.
Eight Frenchmen finished in the top 100. Gael Monfils (25th) lost three places but performance of the week went to Constant Lestin. The winner of the competition in Vancouver (defeating Arthur Rinderkneek in the final) gained 19 places to 75th in the world. Benjamin Bonzi and Adrian Mannarino lost two (50th and 65th), Hugo Gaston three (71st), Quentin Hallis five (76th) and Richard Gaschet seven (91st). Besides Lestienne, only Rinderknech is gaining ground (58th, +6).
