Chinese Foreign Ministry: US Has Not Shown That Tik Tok Threatens National Security

(BEIJING) — China’s Foreign Ministry said Thursday that the United States has yet to provide evidence that TikTok poses a threat to national security, adding that U.S. authorities should stop fighting such companies.
This came at a daily press briefing by ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin.
TikTok reported on Wednesday that US President Joe Biden’s administration had asked its Chinese owners to give up their stakes in the popular video app or face a possible US ban. TikTok is owned by the Chinese tech giant ByteDance.
