crypto Youtuber cheats his subscribers stealing 4 million euros

Several hundred people have reported a scam organized by Youtuber Crypto Gouv. The latter invited his subscribers to join the investment fund, sometimes encouraging them to pay him tens of thousands of euros by promising them high capital gains. A few weeks later, he announced that he would close the operation and walk away with 4 million euros in refunds.

We can never say enough: if, despite the current adverse market atmosphere, you want to invest in cryptocurrencies, be extremely careful where you step. Scams that have been widespread for several years are now legion, to the point of interest of the FBI itself. While the “luckiest” get away with a loss of only a few thousand euros, the bill can very quickly reach several million. Thus, the amount of cumulative fraud found on social networks is estimated at 770 million euros.

Enough to fuel the greed of malicious individuals. Crypto Gouv, a Youtuber who has gained some fame in the French cryptosphere, thus sniffed out a vein. In just a few months, he managed to gather as many as 4,000 aspiring traders in Discord and Telegram rooms. Now we know the trick: it dangles astronomical profits in exchange for only a few hundred euros of investment. Within these pools created by Crypto Gouv, some get carried away and reach several thousand euros.

He walks away with 4 million euros of his subscribers without explanation

Everything stops on July 9. After a few weeks of sharing tutorials with his community while collecting their donations, Crypto Gouv announces that he is leaving with all the payments received. He even allows himself to taunt his victims by explaining in detail how the scam worked. For lawyer Me Asta-Wola, “It’s like you entrusted a financial investment advisor with some money and he just walked away with your money”.
