Duma Spokesperson: West Must Think About Its Citizens’ Interests Due To Repercussions Of Sanctions Against Russia

Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said Western countries that imposed sanctions against Russia should think about the interests of their citizens, who have already begun to feel the repercussions of the decisions by Washington and Brussels.

Volodin added, in an interview with an official Russian media, that “European citizens are suffering from the sanctions imposed on Russia and the consequences of the decisions of Washington and Brussels, including inflation in their countries.”

Volodin continued: “The economy has started to collapse and inflation is rising… When it comes to European citizens, they suffer all the difficulties and consequences resulting from the decisions of Washington and Brussels. Several governments have already resigned during the last period. .. There is a crisis, which simply reaches its peak. And in this case, they have to turn around, understand their responsibilities and think first of all about the interests of their fellow citizens.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously stated that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, and the sanctions imposed against Russia have dealt a heavy blow to the entire world economy. Emphasizing again and again that Russia is capable of solving all obstacles and difficulties.
