From Spider-Man to James Bond? Tom Holland saw himself well in 007! – Cinema news

Like many British actors, Tom Holland sees himself playing James Bond! A few years ago, he proposed to Sony a movie about the famous secret agent youth.
Now that Daniel Craig has bid farewell to James Bond, the character is back on the market. Even Tom Holland, who looks a little too young to play the spy at the age of 25, would want to rub his shoulders in a role that’s so flattering… unless he says he’s young!
And as the Spider-Man translator revealed in the pages of the magazine a few years ago, that’s exactly what he offered to Sony. Total movie. “I had a meeting with Sony, after or during Spider-Man 2 [Far From Home]I had about young Bond to raise this idea for them“, he says.
And Lucid to continue:It was the origin story of James Bond. It didn’t really make sense. It didn’t work. It was a young boy’s dream and I don’t think the Bond heirs were particularly interested.“
The meeting will not be in vain as Tom Holland has finally agreed to get the role of the hero in the adaptation of the famous video game, which is expected on our screens next February 16.
From young Bond to young Drake
“The idea for a young Bond movie would have been to continue this idea and make the Nathan Drake story as an origin story in addition to the games. And opened a conversation” he recalls.
Because before the actor was announced in 2017 in the skin of Nathan Drake, the feature film Uncharted was in the works for several years, and many screenwriters and directors have succeeded in their heads.
Shortly before Tom Holland’s casting was announced, Joe Carnahan had hinted at the gritty and brutal setting they planned for the film, which was not yet pre-production. This script and the writer were dropped from the project to give free rein to a new plot with a rejuvenated Nathan Drake, which was eventually directed by Ruben Fleischer.
