Ripple CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, Celebrates Victories in 2023

Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple, recently celebrated a historic year in 2023, expressing gratitude to his early supporters on Twitter. His achievements this year did not go unnoticed, as CoinDesk listed him among the most influential people in digital assets and Web3 space for 2023.

This recognition comes amidst a series of significant victories achieved by Ripple and its native digital asset, XRP. Ripple recently scored a major legal win against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) when the court provided regulatory clarity for XRP and dismissed the SEC’s preliminary injunction request.

In another significant legal development, the SEC officially dropped all charges against Ripple’s executives, Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen. Initially, the SEC accused them of aiding and abetting Ripple in violating certain securities laws, particularly regarding Ripple’s institutional sales of XRP.

The unranked list of 50 honorees includes individuals who have had a significant impact on the industry, for better or worse. The top ten, including Garlinghouse, features other key figures such as Casey Rodarmor for “Arrangement Theory” in Bitcoin, Jenny Johnson for leading Wall Street’s embrace of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency ETFs, CoinBase CEO Brian Armstrong for remaining the biggest player “in the hot seat,” Lido Dao with their substantial ETH holdings, and Paolo Ardoino from Tether for diversifying investments.

Overall, Ripple’s legal victories and Garlinghouse’s recognition highlight the company’s resilience and influence in the cryptocurrency industry in 2023.
