In two weeks, this Varoise becomes a crypto influencer on TikTok

160,000. This is the number of subscribers who follow Fréjusienne Diane Benhamou (27) on the social network TikTok. Her handle, “Estheriumcrypto”, is a pun that combines her middle name Esther and the cryptocurrency Ethereum.
Because that’s really the issue of cryptocurrency in its content. “I do popularization on projects that seem interesting to me”says the young woman.
She also discusses topics related to economic news and shares more personal videos.
A career launched thanks to… a joke
His two brothers gave him, at a very young age, a passion for technology. “When I was little, I was already watching videos of Steve Jobs”recalls Diane Benhamou.
After studying at a business school, in 2019 she joined an advertising agency in the creation department in Paris. There he meets cryptocurrency enthusiasts. “My co-workers put me at their disposal. I started investing following their advice”she explains.
In December, Diane decides to create a TikTok account dedicated to deciphering news related to this area. Do you want to share your knowledge with the public? Not really…
“I wanted to make a joke with my boss, who is also a crypto influencer on TikTok. I was waiting to see his reaction when he came across my profile”she points out.
Except the joke is about to get very serious. In two weeks, his account grew from zero to 100,000 subscribers, and partnership requests poured in. The neo-tiktokeuse’s career has been launched.
Unlike certain crypto influencers who promise to earn huge sums by betting on this or that digital currency, Estherium does not want to be perceived as “investment advisor”.
“I don’t encourage my subscribers to invest because I assume it’s a waste of money even if profits are achievable. I talk about current trends in my videos.”
She also encourages her subscribers to explore for themselves the projects developed in her videos. Among them, a young woman confirms that she is less than “10% is sponsored content. I get hundreds of suggestions a week, I only share projects that I find interesting”.
Misogynist remarks
The field of technosphere and cryptocurrency is still very much dominated by men. Like all women who evolve in a male environment, Diane sometimes faced violent attacks.
The launch of his TikTok account sparked a barrage of misogynistic comments. “Nabilla in the crypto”, “the woman returns to the kitchen”, “what man is hiding behind this actress” examples are the reaction of Internet users to his first contents. “Some could not understand that a woman could take an interest in and decipher these topics,” she complains.
His first videos go so far as to react to men who are already established in the environment. “They called my boss. They asked who I am, where I’m from”, says Fréjusienne. Diane assures that the misogynistic remarks and comments have since stopped.
Despite the success of her music videos, the young woman does not imagine devoting herself to this activity alone. She wants to continue nurturing her TikTok profile alongside her work.
Pure player Brut has already invited her as an expert, it is not unthinkable to see “Esterium”, intervene in other media in the future…
