IRL – Rent reference index: how much in the 2nd quarter of 2022?

The new list of rents (IRL) was published on July 13, 2022 by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee). Series 2e The quarter of 2022 is now at 135.84, which represents an annual increase of 3.60%. As a reminder, it rose by 2.48% on the 1ster quarter 2022.
The IRL sets annual rent increase ceilings that landlords can demand from tenants when the lease includes an annual rent review clause.
It also applies to mortgages, whether they are furnished or not.
The IRL corresponds to the average, over the past 12 months, of the consumer price index (CPI) excluding tobacco and mortgages.
To know: the bill to protect purchasing power that is being discussed in the Parliament plans to increase the rent at 3.5% for one year from October 2022.
Note: the rent for accommodation under the 1948 Act is reviewed annually under the IRL’s non-conformance rules.
