Toulouse: Discover the future stations of the 3rd metro line in pictures

This Monday, May 30, through an exhibition that will run until June 10, TCO unveiled images of the 21 future stations of the 3rd metro line. Here are the visuals.
It’s a step further. This Monday, Toulouse residents were able to get a clear idea of what the 3rd metro line, scheduled for 2028, will look like. 27 kilometers long, it will connect Colmières-Garre and La Caden in Labage. This Monday, steps away from Capitol Station, the TCO opened its exhibit — which runs through June 10 — that presents images of 21 future stations. Last June, during a trade union committee meeting, the contracting authority in charge of construction, TCO Engineering, had already provided a forecast with visuals, which have since been developed.
A basis for consultation
These new images allow Toulouse residents to visualize the transformation of the sites “before and after” the work, which should begin in the fall. The exhibit allows you to observe the transformation district by district. Between the images of the 3D presentations, inside a pink dumpster – with a design inspired by the stations of the future – an interactive screen offers a sketch of the “Toulouse of tomorrow”.
But these new pictures are not final. Metro stations will be designed through consultation with metropolitan residents beginning in 2023 It is a very good idea to present 3rd line projects to the public in this way with these assumptions. This is a basis for discussion. We couldn’t start from scratch,” said Jean-Luc Maudenc, mayor of Toulouse and president of Toulouse Metropole. Jean-Michel Lattes, President of Tisseo Collectivités, added: “Metropolitans must take ownership of this 3rd line so that we all move towards its harmonious integration into the landscape. »
Plants, Industry and Transport…
According to Jean-Luc Moudenc, the 21 metro stations will be “connected” to other modes of transport and especially to bicycles. Green spaces will also have “their place” in their design. And art will not be put aside. Each metro station will host a work of art. The artistic heritage of the TCO network will be enriched and include 70 works in 2028.
In the coming months, residents of the metropolis will have new elements to visualize the 3rd line. TCO will open three “Maisons du Metro” in the city center, in Labez and Colomier. In November, a life-size model of the new trains running in Toulouse will be on display
